The people of Unknown tend to each have their own perspective deities. While the people worship different deities there is few if any interaction between these cosmic beings and their followers except bestowed powers of divine magic. However some scholars feel these magic’s may not be of the divine nature bur the pure power of will. Humans were the only race where predominate religion played a crucial part in their culture. With the destruction of the church many small churches, cults, and religions have sprung, however just as many people have lost faith all together. The following religions are commonly known regardless of where you are, but each city may have additional religions or various takes on these.
the once mighty kingdom of humans was built on the strong foundation of the church. They believed that their god was the bringing of light and cleanser of evil. He represented goodness, law, peace, charity, and no mercy for the vile. While the humans admitted the existence of other gods and spirits they claimed their god was the creator of all. It was only those who believed in this god that could ascend to the blessed lands. The paladins during the crusade tried to model their behaviors after this God seeking to destroy what ever they thought was vile. The church saw those of the Shadow to be the unclean and unworthy to enter the blessed lands that only the faithful can enter and only the purifying destruction at the hands of the church would could give their souls a second chance at redemption. The church now fragmented and broken squabbles amongst themselves but with the destruction of their homelands man has either clung to faith or abandoned their absent god.
The Shadows :
Many of those under the Undead kings rule claim to have seen the after life. The bleakness of undeath and nature of their being has a tendency to dissuade many of worshiping a entity of power. Instead many of the people of the shadows worship the undead king as their immortal god and call upon the power of the shadow fell for divine power. While most of the other people of the world (mainly humans) view the undead King as an evil, this may not be entirely accurate. Instead those who worship the undead king have a tendency to see both good and evil as two sides of the same coin neither can exist without the other. However the undead king understands that strict laws must be upheld of any people less they descend into chaos and end themselves from within
